Two Geekbench 2 benchmarks which were reportedly from unreleased MacBook Pro and iMac models surfaced last month, resulting in speculation that both iMac and MacBook Pro lines would be updated. After this weeks release of the new MacBook Pro, iMac users have been left waiting for an improved iMac.
Primate Labs posted some of their geekbench results for the non-Retina Display MacBook Pro, and the results are almost an exact match with leaked test results from last month. It is safe to assume that this was a legitimate leak.
Although the other geekbench results are not linked, it is a good possibility an updated iMac may be right around the corner. The iMac benchmark from last month shows “iMac13,2” model running a 3.4 GHz Core i7-3770 quad-core processor equipped with 4 GB of 1600 MHz RAM. It is possible that this is fake, however Primate Labs and other sources believe it is legitimate. Next-generation iMac improvements will likely include Retina Displays and ant-reflective glass.
