Google’s Gmail app for iOS had a less than impressive debut last November. One of the major gripes was the lack of push notifications. Google has released a new version of the app with some marked improvements. Push notifications have been added which allow users to be notified every time a new message hits their inbox. Users can also reconfigure their account to use an alternate send address instead of using their Gmail address. Persistent login was also added which prevents users from having to continually log in when their session expires.
